Kelowna Weekend

11 / 11 / 135 / 3 / 19

I’ve visited Kelowna before and loved it. One because my West Coast Baldwin family is out here and two who doesn’t love looking at mountains and beautiful scenery.

I got in late Friday night and went to bed immediately. Yes I’m an old woman. Saturday morning I got up nice and early due to still being on Toronto time. We headed off for a family run minus my uncle and boy cousin 😉 It was just us girls which meant pre-run and mid-run selfies!

It was absolutely gorgeous outside and great running weather. We ran for an hour and I was able to knock out 10K. I decided instead of carting my heart rate monitor on this trip I’d make use of the handy dandy Nike Fuel Band that I got during the NTC launch. My Fuel was at 3072 post run. This is only the second day wearing it so we’ll see how it manages on days I don’t do runs.

Saturday afternoon my uncle and I hiked up Knox Mountain to gorgeous views, great conversation and more active fun for me. I need to hike more. We picked up a couple of bottles of wine for dinner. I got to try the local Kelowna Malbecs which were nice but I think I’m an Argentian Malbec snob.

The little star of the weekend was Primrose. If you know me you know that I’m not a cat person but this little kitten won me over. I’m allergic to cats and they usually know this and just want to snuggle but I was ok around this little one. We had a high five game going Sunday morning.

Sunday we had a family photoshoot down by the water. It was gorgeous. Including the photobombs, selifies and cheesy poses. My family is truly blessed to live out here and I’m truly blessed to be able to visit them.

We’re on Day 21 of 100 Days of Audacity And we’re We’re on Day 21 of 100 Days of Audacity

And we’re making progress!

I’m in the process of interviewing for a handful of roles after diligently applying and working my network!

Out of 2 business ideas, my husband and I picked one that were flushing out.

We reviewed our monthly budget and made cuts in case we have to buckle down after my severance runs out.

I completed my first UGC campaign and I’ve applied to a ton more.

And I’m going to enjoy funemployment this week with my twins!

If you need to button up your budget I’ve created a template you can grab from the link in my bio!

I loved the heck out of July! What’s something you I loved the heck out of July! What’s something you did this month that created a core memory?!?

We’re obsessed with seasonal bucket lists over here. We created a fun list this summer and have knocked off most of the items already. Just a few more for August!

Do you have a summer bucket list??

I’ve started doing co-working sessions with my wedding planner @laurs.sinclair & wedding photographer @iam.stephaniemason. They are luckily best friends and 8 years later adopting me into their friend circle which is giving me life in the friendship department!

In the summer, for our monthly date night we send the twins to my parents for a sleepover and go golfing together! We’ve been trying out courses close to home so we can race home to our puppy and eat a lazy dinner together!

What’s your favourite course in the west end of Ottawa?

The epic yes day continues! We started this tradition on our twins birthday last year and did it again.

This year we had breakfast pizza, went rock climbing, ate cotton candy, Mac and Cheese, Banaba Pudding, went mini putting and had Boston Pizza for dinner!

Everyone was exhausted and had hurting tummies!

Happy 6th Birthday Pineault Twins!! It’s our seco Happy 6th Birthday Pineault Twins!!

It’s our second annual tradition of doing a yes day for their birthday. They get to choose the food and one activity each that we do as a family! Here’s the recap!

Breakfast Pizza - @mike_rtq’s creation
Rock Climbing @altitudegym
Mac & Cheese @churchillswestboro
Cotton Candy
Banana Pudding @happyrollsdessertbar
Mini Putt @puttingedge
Pizza @bphuntclub

Passed out from the sugar crash!

Overheard the next morning: Next year I’m only choosing one treat so my tummy doesn’t hurt.

We eat very healthy but we want them to know what “fun” things taste like but now they understand why we don’t normally eat alllllll the treats!

Something I wish I had learned in my teens was tha Something I wish I had learned in my teens was that letters did not define my worth.

My parents taught me to work hard, but along the way, I sought their acceptance in my grades, not just because I am.

That took me years to unpack.
