This is one of my favourite posts to write every year! Bring on the 2018 goals!
Using several different planning methods I’ve amalgamated them into one planning system that I published in 2016 called the Goal Digger Workbook method. Here is the final result of how I decide on my core desired feelings, map out goals in a calendar and then break them down into monthly, weekly and daily goals. While it’s a big year filled with planning a wedding for August and travel for my dōTERRA business to Leadership and Convention events as well as returning to Camp Yoga weekends I still wanted to map them out and then figure out how to accomplish goals in the standard categories outside of the bigger date specific ones I’ve just mentioned.
I love aligning core desired feelings to my goals and I’ve got some new ones this year that apply to different categories of life.
Career, Finances, and Business Travel
At the end of November, I was head hunted by Corel Corporation to take on a mat leave contract. My official title is eCommerce Merchandising Manager and I manage 7 different creative product websites. I want to make a positive impact at Corel and am excited for the possibilities over the course of the next year. When I first got my job at Kobo I called it my dream job because I was selling eBooks and eReaders as a bookworm I was aligned to the company mission, values and products. With Corel I’m back in a job that lights me up and that I’m aligned with. I get to sell creative products to creatives – whether they are photographers, videographers, graphic designers or weekend warrior hobbyists. I love that I get to be in a creative headspace again while learning and implementing new eCommerce skills. I’m aligned and lit up to 2018.
At the same time, I will be diligently growing my dōTERRA business to Diamond Rank. When I think of how I want to feel every step of the way it’s abundant. And no I’m not just talking finances. While diversifying my income has always been a main driver. I feel so abundant in relationships and those I’ve met while building this business and making an impact in the world. I’m not just educating and selling essential oils but I’m truly showing up by teaching about proactive health. That is my passion and my why in this word. The rank of Diamond is a big goal but one I need to speak out loud for public accountability! Last year I didn’t share publicly my rank goals and for that reason, I believe I stayed stagnant for a bit. This year I’m all about really owning my business goals.
In addition, when it comes to my family finances I always set a goal of having consistent investments and this year I have a goal of educating myself a bit more about investment decisions. I have a goal to read 2 books on the subject and learn in podcast format (looking for recommendations) in 2018 and set a monthly appointment for myself in my planner to review my investments the last week of every month.
Last but not least, I’ll be traveling a few times this year. I’m heading out to dōTERRA’s Leadership event in Orlando in March, Convention in September and I’ll personally be attending Camp Yoga QC and Camp Yoga California again this year and am aligned to what these trips mean for my business.
Physical & Mental Health
When I think about planning workouts, my health care habits and tackling races in 2018 I want to feel vibrant, vital and do so with ease.
My goal is 3 gym workouts a week (Monday, Weds and Friday mornings), 2 Yoga Practices a Week (Weds & Friday evenings) and go for 2 Runs a week with Havoc (or Rogue) – 1 5K during the week and a trail run on the weekends.
I’m going to train for only 3 races this year because that’s what I feel aligned to. I’m going to tackle XMan Montreal in June, Ottawa Spartan Sprint in July and the Mad Trapper Trail Half Marathon in October.
From a healthcare perspective, my consistent goal is to take my supplements daily, ensure my water intake is optimized and have my nightly Epsom salt baths. I also recognize that my caffeine intake is way to high, so I’m going to detox and get my intake significantly lower in the new year. Thankfully I have PastTense and Peppermint for the imminent head tension that will be caused by the reduction in caffeine but oh my body needs it.
Hobbies, Home Environment, Spirituality, Personal Development & Female Friendships
When I think about creating seasonal bucket lists this year I want to feel playful in creation and execution. When it comes to creating a home that I love I want everything from organizing to decorating to make me feel like I’m nurturing a home and not just a house. When it comes to building beautiful friendships from my remote friends to local Ottawa beauties I want it to feel blissful. And when it comes to my Spirituality and relationship with God and my self-development journey I want to nurture my soul.
This year I have goals to really decorate our house. Up first is the Guest Bedroom!
The first order of playful joy that is on tap is tackling our Winter Bucket List. Stay tuned for the Summer one coming around May/June 🙂
I can’t wait to nurture new female friendships in Ottawa. I’ve got yoga, gym, hike and tea dates planned with new adult friends and I’m excited about some consistency! It’s also really important for me to ensure a family dinner with my parents is on the calendar once a month.
I have my daily devotional on top of my night stand all ready to go for the year and I’m excited to continue my morning meditation practice for 5 mins before I get busy. Finally, I listen to 1 podcast a day and will read one chapter of a book every night.
Here are some books I’d love to consume in 2018:
Romantic Relationship, Wedding, and Personal Travel
This year, Mike and I are getting married in August. While the wedding is not a goal, planning a stress-free party is. When August 17th rolls around I want to feel delight, joy and love for Mike and my friends and family. It’s not just a party to celebrate our marriage but also gather those that mean the most to us around us to celebrate our connections with everyone.
To nurture our relationship we have a weekly date night planned. This year we’re dividing the month in half. I plan 2 and Mike plans 2. Last but not least, we’re going to try and have weekly time together without our phones. I really liked chatting with one of my podcast guests around how her and her fiance actually leave their phones at home sometimes so we’ll see if we can accomplish this feat.
We’re also planning our honey moon after the wedding and then a family vacation over the Christmas Holidays next year so I would love for that process and those trips to be delightful!
How is your 2018 shaping up?!
