Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.

Definition of an Alpha Female

An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.

She is the brightest star in her constellation.  When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine.  An Alpha Female puts herself first so that she can fill up her cup and then have more energy for her friends, family, and coworkers. She strives for synergy with the world around her. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

Meet Anastasiya Gorshkova!

Anastasiya Gorshkova is the founder of the Anastasiya Craze YouTube Channel and fitness brand, which seeks to motivate and inspire women to stay fit and healthy through daily exercise.
She was featured on The Steve Harvey Show as an up-and-coming YouTube star for her variety of workouts that take her community around the world. An NASM certified trainer, she puts her workouts together to help women keep their bodies challenged and their minds engaged.
Anastasiya was born in Ukraine, immigrating to the United States at the age of 16. She spent 10 years in the banking industry, leaving to explore her true passions: fitness and travel. What do you think of the definition and how are you an Alpha Female?
I came to the U.S. by myself from a small town in Ukraine when I was 16 years old. Ever since I’ve been taking chances, staying outside of the comfort zone and pursuing my biggest goals. In my opinion, Alpha Female is a woman who believes in herself no matter what and goes for her dreams despite how scary or difficult things might seem at times.
What are you most passionate about?
My biggest passion is to inspire women to take care of their mind and body and motivate them to reach their dreams and aspirations.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
It might come as a surprise, but my ideal work/life harmony is when both of them are combined together. I am truly passionate about what I do, therefore it never feels like work.  For example, when I go traveling, I enjoy getting up early in the morning to film a workout and travel videos for my YouTube channel. I cannot imagine just lying on the beach with a cocktail in my hand all day long and doing nothing. I’ve done it before and I was honestly bored out of my mind. I love sharing my experiences around the world with my viewers, inspiring women to workout and getting them excited about this amazing world of opportunities and possibilities.
Share with us a time when work/life balance was out of wack? What was your aha moment that taught you it was ok to take care of yourself first? 
When I moved to the U.S., I had no family, friends or relatives here, therefore I had to learn how to take care of myself and to put myself first. With years it came to me intuitively to make sure that I am fulfilled as an individual before being able to take care of things or people around me. I think the only time when I felt like I was losing that balance was when I had a full-time job in banking, studying to get my MBA and working on AnastasiyaCraze at the same time. So I made a decision to leave my decade-long banking career and to focus my energy on building my business around my passions of fitness, nutrition, and travel. As soon as I took that chance, my work/life balance was restored.
How do you nourish yourself?
First, by working out. No matter how busy I am or how I am feeling, as soon as I complete a workout, I feel an incredible amount of energy, concentration, and satisfaction. Second, by spending time with people I enjoy being around. Finally, by taking the time for myself. It’s interesting that the more I grow as a person the more I enjoy my own company. I think it’s really important to spend some time by yourself to re-energize, collect your thoughts and to reflect back on things. I love getting lost in the small streets of Rome and discovering something new or sitting in the cafe with a book and a cup of coffee, read, people, watch and reflect on things and dreams in my diary.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
As a fitness consultant and a personal trainer, every single day of my life revolves around fitness. I am a morning person, so I like to workout first thing in the morning. It gives me strength, energy, and concentration to take on the day. I specialize in bodyweight training, therefore I can do my workouts absolutely anywhere. I prefer to workout outside by going on a quick run to warm-up and then to complete workouts from my Workout Calendar that every member of Anastasiya Craze community can download and use daily.
 What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
Write down things that need to be done for the next day. It sounds simple, but there is something about transferring all those things you need to do from your head to your calendar on a phone or a piece of paper. I’ve been doing it for years and that’s something that helped me to stay focused, organized and to prioritize all the things that need to be done.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
My perfectionism. I’ve been a perfectionist my whole life. Everything has to be done to the highest standard. But the more my business grows and expands the more I find it challenging to do every single thing perfectly.
What is your definition of happiness?
To live to the fullest as many moments of my life as possible. To do things I am passionate about, to pursue my biggest dreams and to have breathtaking experiences, so one day I can look back and say that I lived my life exactly how I wanted and never settled.

What’s one of your toxic habits? I’ll go fir What’s one of your toxic habits? 

I’ll go first:
- staying up late working on passion projects 

Why is that toxic? 

Because it’s stopping me from getting up early and having a delicious morning routine. I’m waking up groggy or unmotivated. 

So how do I solve it? A few months ago I had a plug timer that would turn my wifi off at 9:30 pm. We unplugged it when someone came to fix our wifi so now I have to get that bad boy plugged in again.

The first 2 years of being a twin mom were really The first 2 years of being a twin mom were really hard for me. I didn't thrive. I've only started finding my groove this year. I've only started feeling into the woman I am becoming. I was so lost for what seemed like so long. In the grand scheme of things, 2 years is so short but it felt like an eternity. 
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I really needed to lean hard on this man for support and for comfort. Meanwhile, he's in the thick of it as well discovering who he is as a husband and a father.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So at the start of 2023, I declared we were going to go on a weekly date night. And every time I mentioned it to friends or our neighbours with kids they'd look at us a bit shocked and say "Oh wow good for you" and then I started seeing a babysitter come over next door once a week. I cheered silently to know they were putting themselves first and ensuring they were getting some quality time together. 
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While we love to get locked up in an escape room (we're kinda regulars at @escapemanor) and problem-solve our way out, I'm also quite content going out for oysters, dinner and drinks. Here's to almost a full year of date nights and prioritizing us!
