My Strengths

In a society that is so focused on telling you what’s wrong with you, it’s refreshing to be part of a movement, of a revolution and to be building a business with a company that celebrates your strengths. This past week at dōTERRA’s East Coast Leadership they decided to partner with a world-renowned organization, Gallup, to teach us how to identify our top 5 strengths and then they dōTERRAized them for us wellness advocates and how we can use our strengths to build our businesses in a new way!

Each strength is sorted into one of four domains.

These domains describe how people and teams use their talents to work with information, make things happen, influence others and build relationships.

So are you curious about mine? Maybe just a little? Ok, here they are.

Input & Learner are Strategic Thinking

Significance, Competition and Command are Influencing

So how can I make this blog post useful to you versus just self-serving me?

Well since my top strength is Input and if you’ve been hanging out here for a while you know that I’m good at researching and curating information for others to use. It’s a skill and talent that I’ve really developed since my MS diagnosis in 2014.

So here’s how I curated the information they presented to us at Leadership and how I’ll be applying my strengths to my business moving forward and if you share similar ones they may serve you but if not you can use the same thought processes and questions to apply them to your own strengths.

1. Tell Everyone About Your Strengths

It’s not about being egotistical and just boasting to the world but about celebrating your strengths. So even if you thought me posting about my strengths was from the ego I know that the more we celebrate ourselves (no humble brags here) the more it gives permission to others to celebrate themselves. Go on with your bad (good) self and tell me what your top strengths are in the comments below. I’d love to hear them!

2. Study Success

Reverse engineer a recent success you’ve had. What made this success different or the path you took different? How did you use your strengths to achieve that success? Once you know what you do best it’ll be easier to replicate that in the future because you’ll be acting with intention.

3. Duplicate Strengths In Others

What are your strengths? What are the strengths of the people around you? Your partner? Your best friend? Your co-workers? How can you take this principle and practice this in every corner of your life. Especially those who aren’t part of dōTERRA or another network marketing company. Celebrating strengths will serve us in so many facets of our lives.

How can you celebrate others so they live more in their power? How can you sing their praises? How can you make them significant in your life and the lives of others?

When you do know your strengths and the strengths of others wouldn’t it be so much easier to work in your own zones of genius while achieving things jointly? My top 5 strengths are in Strategic Thinking and Influencing categories. You know I’ll be partnering with those who have Executing & Relationship Building to go further together. I love that I don’t have to struggle to be well-rounded but I can just stand in what I do best and do more of it!

Are you going to take the Strengths Finder test?

*Side Note: I’ve decided to actually gift this to my leaders in my dōTERRA business! I’m so excited to use this on our team and can’t wait to dive into their strengths and how we can truly support each other!
