I’m no interior designer and I don’t pretend to be good at interior design at all so be nice on this blog post (pretty please!)
One of the first things I did when moving into our new house in Port Alberni was order furniture for our guest bedroom. Since I moved in mid-February and our furniture wasn’t arriving until mid-March I needed something to sleep on.
So we sold our guest bedroom furniture in Ottawa and I had some fun on Wayfair!

Here are links to the items I grabbed.
Queen Bed: Fun fact, Mike calls these style of beds prison beds, although I tried to tell him they are in the farmhouse style, he just wasn’t having it.
Bench: We don’t have a linen closet in this house so this will come in handy for storage. We can also use the guest bedroom closet for extra pillows and blankets.
Light Fixture (we still need to install this one)

The rug and curtains came with us from Ottawa, Mike made the hexagon shelves, I grabbed the green plant from Home Depot and the pictures used to be hung up in our stairwell in Ottawa. I’m excited to decorate the shelves a little bit more but definitely not a priority while we set up the rest of the house.
My parents had gifted us these lamps for Christmas a few years ago and they never found a home in Ottawa so I’m so happy they are perfect for this room. I have a petal diffuser with OnGuard and Easy Air for anyone that comes to visit. An extra blanket on the end of the bed and a stack of photos we’ll be using in our front hall later.
Not pictured is Mike’s old leather recliner that gives a nice sitting option or place to lie your clothes.
The Stay Awhile prints are from Etsy. I purchased the digital downloads, had them printed at Shoppers and then use 2 of our wedding photo frames for these. We have 9 wedding photos printed for the house in Ottawa but are only hanging 6 in Port Alberni so the other 3 frames are easily repurposed. 2 for the guest bedroom and I used the third in our guest bathroom.
The Be Our Guest pillow is also from Etsy.
I made the wifi sign in the frame on the side table. We had one in our guest bedroom in Ottawa so it just needed an update to our current Wifi name & password. Obviously deleted for the blog lol.

So who’s coming to visit first after COVID restrictions are over?
