Montreal Resto: Crudessence Review

Date night in Montreal with Sarah Jane on Monday, February 18th couldn’t have been better.

I may have gotten slightly lost in the metro system on the way there but I’m a blonde and I’m allowed one moment a day when I’m not perfect 🙂

SJ brought me to an Organic, Vegan, Gluten Free Restaurant called Crudessence for dinner. It reminded me of Live in Toronto. The waitress was so sweet and offered me a menu in English and too speak English as well but I need/want to practice my French so French it was.

I ordered Les Tacos Supremes!

  Taco Supreme

Menu Description: Two handmade corn, flaxseed and sun dried tomato tacos filled with chipotle paté, tomato, sprouts, avocado and red onion. Served with crème fraîche and green salad.

Two Words: Supreme Delicious

I scarfed the entire plate down. I felt so energetic despite the big serving. I was just full enough but it didn’t feel heavy in my stomach.

I love eating healthy when going out for dinner and in another city while traveling it is an extra bonus. Business travel won’t derail my contest prep or healthy lifestyle 🙂

I also found Rise Kombucha Tea at the resto which made me extremely happy and bought two bottles for each day of meetings that I’m here for in Montreal. I love supporting Canadian health companies and this one is one to watch.

Rise Kombucha

What is RISE?

RISE is a slightly sweet and tart tasting beverage created by the synergistic activity of yeast and bacteria in sweetened tea. It is a tonic drink whose taste is reminiscent of a light cider.

Why drink Kombucha? Well direct from their website is this information…

Kombucha is a microbial culture of various bacteria and yeast species. Fermentation of the culture in sweetened tea produces numerous organic acids (e.g. ascetic acid, gluconic acid, malic acid), enzymes, amino acids and polyphenols (e.g. catechins) that improve overall health.

• Acts as an antioxidant

• Strengthens the immune system

• Balances intestinal flora

• Combats stress

• Increases energy

• Stimulates digestion (CAN BE FAST ACTING… ie. stay near a washrom *wink wink*)

Grab a bottle if you’re in Montreal near a Crudessence and ENJOY!
