Country Living & Bugs

We moved out to the country at the beginning of this year and we have NO shortage of bugs.

Asian lady bettles, european paper wasps, and house flies, Oh My.

And now that it’s spring, the mosquitoes and ticks have come out from hibernation. We’ve pulled countless ticks off the dogs already and one off my husband.

I can’t afford to get bit by a tick or let our almost 5 year twins get bit so cue NatPat to the rescue.

NatPat Stickers

NATPAT is a wellness company in Beaverton, Oregon that makes essential oil-infused patches. The company was founded in 2020 by parents looking for a natural way to support their family. They created stickers infused with essential oils, from farms in Australia, that are scientifically proven to protect against outdoor invaders.

We were graciously sent 4 packages of stickers to try.

Itch Relief Patches

The company recommends using them within 6 months of opening the package.

So how do they work:

The patches are made with AromaWeave technology, which is a biodegradable bamboo fiber that holds and diffuses essential oils. When you place a patch on your kids or yourself the technology slowly releases the essential oil aroma over several hours,

Since the essential oils in NATPAT’s patches are scientifically proven to ward off bugs, the aroma keeps ticks or mosquitoes away when you place them on your clothing or body.

The stickers have a lot of fun designs on them so I let the kids pick which ones they wanted before sending them off to Forest School the other day. So far so good and no ticks have been found on the kids yet!

I’ll update the blog after we’ve had a chance to use them for at least a month!
