As I have dealt with fertility issues in the past, to liver health issues, I’ve always been curious about how I could personally use castor oil packs. I’ve been using them since 2018.
While we were trying to conceive, I used castor oil packs as part of a protocol that allowed me to unblock a fallopian tube. I’ve used them while on supplement and health protocols that have allowed me to reduce liver enzymes and to support my liver health in the last few years.
I used to use flannel cotton sheets, with organic castor oil and a hot water bottle over top, but I’ve since graduated to using Queen of Thrones packs that are less messy and allow me to sometimes sleep in them overnight.

How To Use A Castor Oil Liver Pack
Step 1: Place Castor Oil on the cotton side of your castor oil liver pack. I will sometimes add Zendocrine by dōTERRA for extra liver support.
Step 2: Place your pack over your liver and tie it in place.
Option 1: Lie down and relax while reading or watching TV. Take your pack off after an hour and wipe the area clean or shower.
Option 2: Wear overnight, remove in the morning and wipe the area clean or shower.
I will usually only wear them overnight once a week. Most of the time I will only wear them for an hour or two.
Tip: Wear old clothing over top and/or lie on a towel as it can leak out the sides of the pack and will stain clothing or sheets. If that happens, I will put OnGuard cleaner concentrate over the stains and throw in the wash.
I will use my pack 2 – 3 times a week. Remember to replace your pack every 2 months. And here’s a video on how to wash your pack by hand.
