Welcome to all new episodes and guests! Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.

She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

A Canadian living overseas who’s in love with talking about body/mind connection, left brain vs right brain and fit & feminine stuff. She loves connecting to her body in new ways and loves to facilitate that connection for others as a yoga tune up and yoga instructor.

How are you an Alpha Female? 
Well my life work is really in connecting the left and the right side of the brain. I feel that in order for us to be truly in alignment and in our truth we need to be connected. We need to be able to talk to our body and understand its needs emotionally, spiritually and physically. I have spent years trying and discovering (and now I like to say I thrive in). There has been times when I was younger when I would get called a B*tch or some other nasty name because I knew what I wanted and went for it. Unfortunately, I was also out of sync with myself and would take it really hard at times. Now I understand that it’s just a product of being both fit and feminine, assertive and emotional, creative and type A. I feel like we have to teach girls that connecting to our bodies isn’t weak but that it’s our greatest strength.
What does work/life harmony look like for you? 
Unfortunately I’m a bit of a workaholic. But that seems to be the side effect of loving what you do. I have a hard time turning my brain off of ideas and connecting all sorts of dots. However, I do workout, meditate, do affirmations, visualize and use yoga balls to roll daily. Those are non negotiables for a good life for me. On my better days I also take myself out for a walk around the block every hour or so of work and I do force myself to only work until 1 pm on Mondays.
What are you most passionate about?
I’m seriously obsessed with connections. I can come up with the craziest ways that things are connected and thats on all fronts. I enjoy learning and figuring out new connections within the human body-mind-spirit (& sometimes coffee) the most! I think that this is something girls should be taught earlier on. Rather than trying to figure it out on our own and most of the time getting lost in the process and the sea of poor mass media.
What are you daily health habits that keep your immune system boosted?

Where to start on this one🤔  — well I do inversions several times a day, regulate hormones, reduce heavy metal, etc. Usually that looks like a handstand during my workouts and feet up the wall 2 or more times during the day. I ball roll for at least 20 min daily while I do my affirmations. I connect to my core when I move around & last but not least I cannot live without my essential oils diffused throughout my home or in my oil pull in the morning.

What is your weekly fitness routine like?

Geez I keep jumping ahead in my answers 🙈🙈  I work out daily. Usually pretty much first thing in the morning – it’s my wake up and my me time all rolled into one. I do HIIT workouts 2-3 times a week and a heavy yoga flow 3-4 times a week and then once a week I do a slow restorative flow  with emphasis on my breathing practice. I do emphasize breathing in all of my exercising but Sundays I reallllllllllly emphasize it.

How do you challenge yourself fitness wise?

My number one thing is versatility– so even though I do HIIT , yoga and walking/running most of the time I try and hit a new goal or a new pose or a new time orrrrr better yet to be present in the pose goal or time.

What are you daily/weekly nutrition habits that keep you well nourished?

Bulletproof coffee saves my life, but I then normally have a smoothie at lunch and a full dinner at night, with lots and lots and lots of veggies. I also prep all of my grains/beans and seeds on Sundays and write out a meal plan on Sundays.

What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?

My night time routine isn’t as elaborate as my morning– (perhaps something to work on in the coming months) but currently around 9 pm I try to go and get my face washed/oil cleansed  and teeth brushed  then I head up to bed, sometimes I put my feet up for this. I read until 10:30pm jot down notes and write a top 3 list for the following day.

What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for? 

Probably how people receive me. I have to make a conscious effort not to people please but also not to be too firm. I have a tendency to go to a polar if I am not mindful.

What is your definition of happiness?

It changes daily, but my main idea of happiness involve connection, energy, excitement, love and radiance – when I can experience and feel a few of those in a day — I’d say its going well!
