Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
She is the brightest star in her constellation. When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.
Meet Savannah Peck!
Savannah Peck has been a personal trainer, solution focused coach and nutrition consultant for eight years. She started a career in fitness because of her passion for dance and kickboxing. She wants to travel the world and retire her mom from a job that is unfulfilling. After five years of working at different gyms in Ottawa, Savannah invested $20K of savings to start her own (traditional style) business. Her vision is to help rewire your mind, recharge your body and rejuvenate your soul. She had the coaching, training and sales skills but lacked business skills and a business model that could help her grow financially. After she gained 30 lbs from stress in the first year, she grew resentful and believed the traditional style business system and education system was outdated. As her resentment grew, she decided to enroll in two spiritual courses with the Algonquin Medicine Man. She worked to heal the resentment and unconscious limiting beliefs. After a year of healing, she still felt in her heart that she didn’t want to trade time for money. A woman introduced her to a health and wellness company that offers solutions to health and wealth. Savannah was skeptical but tried the products and released 18 lbs. The nutrition systems became her lifestyle. She started to learn the business model and she started to learn about network marketing. Within her first year, she earned an extra $20K online. She had her “Aha moment” when she realized her starting investment was only $350 and it was how she released 18 lbs. The extra money from no overhead costs allowed her more time and money to travel. Her passion for business was sparked again at a much deeper level. She is packing her things to work and travel around the world very soon to introduce solutions to prevent and heal mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and financial stress. She is living life for the thrills, not the bills.

What do you think of the definition and how are you an Alpha Female?
I love the definition of an Alpha female. I grew up thinking that men could only “act” alpha. I think it is one of the most attractive qualities any human can have. I’m an alpha female because I’ve always like to take charge and think for myself. I did not enjoy school as a young girl because I felt they were controlling me and programming me to do things that didn’t excite me. I’m an alpha female because I’ve been my own boss for the last 4 years. I’ve been able to decide how much income I make, who I work with and where my time goes. I think alpha females are a threat to some people because we challenge the status quo and challenge people’s perspectives and beliefs.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
Work/life harmony looks like freedom. Work is something that you love to do therefore, it doesn’t seem like work. However, there are always going to be things we don’t like to do in work or in business and we need to do them regardless. There needs to be some fun and pleasure involved in any project or task in order to effectively create a masterpiece. Work/life harmony is a big struggle for me still because I often feel like I should always be working. The more I work, the more people I help and I’m constantly thinking of other people. My beliefs that my products and services can save someone’s life makes me feel driven to work which can be a double edge sword. I’m still in the process of finding that balance.
Share with us a time when work/life balance was out of whack? What was your aha moment that taught you it was ok to take care of yourself first?
Work/life balance comes in waves and I don’t think it ever leaves. As we step up into the unknown, we experience some “out of balance” energies since we’re trying to learn new skills. Since we are unconsciously recalibrating our old patterns and beliefs when we learn something new, we have these “aha moment’s”. Many of us get thoughts and ideas that excite us every day which can easily throw us out of the work/life balance. If I were to narrow it down to one aha moment that had the biggest effect on my life, it would be when I realized the power of word of mouth marketing and where the economy was headed online. I realized how I could earn passive income which could save me time and money to travel. I realized I wasn’t aligned in my mind, body and soul and I was chasing a life that caused me stress. When I let go of the idea of the traditional business model, I came across an opportunity that helped me have more work/life balance.
What are you most passionate about?
I’m most passionate about nutrition, dance, kickboxing and travel. My passions also involve educating people about solutions for passive income and team work. I want to be the messenger and help expose the truth about the outdated education system and how it is leading a lot of people into debt. I feel good about bringing awareness about the nutrition industry and how its linked to the government and the rise of obesity and other serious health concerns. I am saving animals and I want to start bringing more awareness to the public to prevent animals from pain and suffering.
How do you nourish yourself?
I started nutritional cleansing to try a new system of detoxing and fasting. I’ve always struggled with my weight even as a trainer and after I did a bikini competition, I felt very unhealthy. One of the biggest threats to our health is our environment and our nutritionally bankrupt food overladen with empty calories, combined with an ever-increasing toxic world, that is wreaking havoc on our mental and physical health. While no one product can single-handedly remedy all of our problems, I believe it’s imperative to get serious about improving and maintaining our health. I follow nutritional cleansing along with a plant based lifestyle to remove toxins as much as I can. I only nourish myself with all natural, organic products which are also Informed-Sport Certified. This certification helps ensure that there are no traces of banned substances in the products, including those from cross-contamination during manufacturing. I no longer take the risk of consuming many nutritional supplement products on the market. It can be difficult to tell the difference between a high-quality product and one that may contain ingredients that lead to health concerns. As a trainer and an athletic person, I use a lot of performance products to heal and repair my body from oxidative stress.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
My ideal weekly routine involves kickboxing and dance and I’m excited to start again when I travel. Without that creative outlet, I focuse on going to the gym a few times every week. I like to focus on complex movements that work more than one muscle group at a time. I enjoy high intensity interval training as well as jump rope skipping. I love coordination, balance and agility drills that often challenge me on different levels. I enjoy the benefits of sweating and if I don’t sweat during a workout I often feel like I didn’t train hard enough. I recently joined a free 16 Week challenge with our company, so I started doing split training (one body part per day). I love biking and anything that involves the outdoors too.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
My daily habits for winding down is reading or writing or watching personal development videos. I also meditate and sage my body and my home of negative energies. Sometimes I go for a bike ride in the evening so I can feel closer to nature. The nature helps wind me down and I feel more grounded. I really enjoy the sauna to sweat profusely which helps relax my mind and body as well. I take a night time concoction of our cleanse drink and our adaptogen drink which also helps me reduce stress.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
Some pain points of being an Alpha female is the feeling that I’m never doing enough. Although I like taking the lead, sometimes I really want someone to take control and lead me. I have coaches and mentors that guide me which I’m so grateful for but at the end of the day I still work for myself. Building your own brand and a community can feel overwhelming if you don’t keep in constant contact with your support team. If I forget to meditate, I often feel anxious. I tend to take things personally because my business is my brand and my brand is a reflection of me. I’m becoming more aware of my reactions when unexpected things happen. I’m constantly learning to accept people for who they are and where they are in life in order to hold space for them to grow. I’m recognizing that I cannot save everyone, nor should I want to. There are some people that do not want to be saved and I’m learning to stay out of their way.
What is your definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is a feeling of excitement about what’s on my agenda for the day. Or even what’s not on the agenda. Happiness is doing whatever makes me feel good. I feel really happy dancing or being active which I certainly couldn’t do in an office environment. The more I do what makes me feel good, the healthier I feel. It’s the very reason why I feel so driven about my business. Happy to me means helping others without expectations or attachments. Happiness is choosing who I work with, where I live and how I spend my time and money. Happiness lives in our awareness of our unlimited potential. Happiness comes from knowing or remembering we are all infinite beings, living as one. I feel happy every single moment I take responsibility for my happiness. Traveling the world, meeting new people and spending time with people I love or people that excite me is my definition of happiness.
