Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
She is the brightest star in her constellation. When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first because she deserves self-care and love. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

What do you think of the definition and how are you an Alpha Female?
I am definitely a true Alpha Mama Female lol! I am confident with being arrogant, I am loving, truthful, and as loyal as they come. My foundation of strength comes from many life lessons and experiences, all with no regrets. I strive to keep that harmony and proper balance between family, work, love, and happiness.
What are you most passionate about?
My family. Once you take care of your family, and you are truly happy within the walls of your “house”, everything else falls into place.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
Because the compounding stress of being an entrepreneur can be damaging on your overall health and happiness, working to find balance is key to happiness and stability.
For me, that harmony is created by making boundaries. Boundaries are important so you can focus on one thing at a time. Prioritizing and dividing tasks on a larger scale first, and of course creating daily list of priorities help in keeping everything in order.
Of course, boundaries get crossed sometimes and that’s ok. As long as you can regroup, refocus, and reevaluate the situation at hand to keep what’s important to you at the top.
Share with us a time when work/life balance was out of wack? What was your aha moment that taught you it was ok to take care of yourself first.
Being a police officer for 15 years, there was an aha moment when I really asked myself if this is what I was meant to be doing for the rest of my life (even though I loved it). I was working long hours, shift work, trying hard to manage life at home on little or no sleep with 4 kids and my husband who was also a shift worker, and my health would be potentially at risk if I kept going at the rate I was.
I wasn’t finding gratification in my job as I felt I should be getting. I knew I could do better. For me, my family, and for everyone else connected to me. I left Policing and opened up a personal training studio, Optimum Training Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Although the jump was hard to do, it has been the most satisfying thing ever! I create my own hours, I am home with my family more than ever, and I have the flexibility that I never had before.
How do you nourish yourself?
It’s more than just eating the right foods. It’s also about exercise and general self-love. I eat several small meals a day consisting of a good mix of lean protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables to keep my blood sugar stable and my hormones happy.
I like to unwind with a nice bath with Epsom salts when the kids go to bed. Unplug and go airplane mode on most Sundays (with some exceptions of course!), and keep to a minimum in the evenings so I can focus on family time, and myself.
I try to get enough sleep each night. I aim for at least 6 hours.
I treat myself to a massage every 4 weeks.
I go to the gym 5-6 times a week.
A phone call to reach out to family and friends. In the era of social media, there is nothing more nourishing than a good laugh and phone call from a loved one.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
I usually break up my routine into a 5 day split:
– Mondays are for legs
– Tuesdays are usually shoulders
– Wednesdays are Chest and Arms
-Thursdays are shoulders, and glutes mixed with plyometrics
– Fridays are Back.
I do cardio every day. When I am not in contest prep, I usually do light cardio for 30 minutes 5 days a week. When I am in contest prep, I do cardio every day starting at 30 minutes, and adjust accordingly.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
With a household of 6 the stress level is extremely high. When the house finally calms down and the kids get to bed, I usually unwind by taking an Epsom salt bath. Then I catch up on my emails for a bit before bed because a lot of my online business gets done in the evening because I am too busy during the day to get it done. Then my husband and I usually unwind with a cup of tea and watch a movie or chat about our day. We are really good communicators which is so important in a busy marriage life.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for? (Whether it be how people perceive your personality, or managing ourselves – for example the amount of things we do, etc)
- Definitely personality perception
- Eating habits
- Managing emails, messages and not being able to answer everyone at once.
- Saying NO
What is your definition of happiness?
Happiness is loving yourself, and your life at any given moment. It is smiling at your successes, embracing your opportunities, and not sweating the small stuff.
