Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
She is the brightest star in her constellation. When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

What do you think of the definition and how are you an Alpha Female?
I would say I am and I’m not. I’m driven and inspired, but I tend to support alphas rather than lead the pack. Trying to be one, in fact, led my body to burnout. Maybe I’m more of a beta 🙂
What are you most passionate about?
I’m passionate about helping women untangle who they think they should be from who they are and to reconnect to their desires, dreams, and power.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
For me its embodying a balance of feminine with masculine. Honoring flow over hustle. Being rather than doing. That doesn’t mean I don’t work hard. But I only work hard enough. My body doesn’t let me drive myself into the ground any more. I learned to listen to her and that has tapped me into greater powers in my intuition, energy, and the space I hold for healing and transformation in my clients.
Share with us a time when work/life balance was out of wack? What was your aha moment that taught you it was ok to take care of yourself first?
Oh man, that’s quite the story. Workaholism started for me in high school trying to avoid a fairly messy split at home and continued for 15 years until my body said no. 10 years doing 16 hour days in the film industry sleeping with my blackberry under my pillow. Working hard and playing harder. My body crashed and woke me up to a need to change my life and find my purpose.
How do you nourish yourself?
With ease. Rituals. I love essential oils. Playing and listening to music. Taking time to get into nature. Staying in bed and reading on weekends. Road trips to the desert or beach.
What is your weekly fitness routine like? Fairly slow right now. And it changes depending on the week of my cycle. I’m still recovering from an adrenal crash, and a car crash in march, so stretching, walking, and dance parties in my living room. I’ve been getting into QiGong and something called Noble Movement that my friend David Beaudry created who is an evolutionary trainer for athletes. He teaches them to get into the flow so they can move like Neo in the Matrix 😉 What he’s created is truly body positive, I love it.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
Turning off screens and lighting candles, dancing to something that gets me out of my head and into my body. And usually a pleasure practice of some sort. 🙂
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
At the moment, building a solopreneur business while healing from burnout. Its a delicate balance and sometimes the stress of uncertainty sends me back into the physical triggers.
What is your definition of happiness?
Knowing I’m safe to enjoy the present moment, connected with other beautiful humans and embodied in the bliss of being alive.
