Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
She is the brightest star in her constellation. When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first because she deserves self-care and love. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.
Meet Heather Dominick!

What do you think of the definition and how are you an Alpha Female?
Love the creativity and ingenuity of this definition and am grateful there is someone speaking this important message into the Universe on behalf of women everywhere.
I am an Alpha Female because I am leading a movement for highly sensitives that feel called to be self-employed. This requires a deep understanding of what work/life harmony must look like for me (and that this does not look the same as for a woman who is not highly sensitive and not self-employed) so that I may be equipped to support other Highly Sensitive Entrepreneurs to create their own definition for themselves.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
Honoring my highly sensitive nature and working and living from this place while cultivating a deep trust that I can create what I am meant to create in this world even though it will look massively different than for someone who is not a HSE.
Share with us a time when work/life balance was out of whack? What was your aha moment that taught you it was ok to take care of yourself first?
2011 was a dark night of the soul. I was working with a mentor at the time who I came to understand was very mismatched for me. The amount of income her clients were generating was very important to her and this triggered for me what I have now come to refer to as one of the HSE Coping Mechanisms: Pushing. I was over-exhausted, overwhelmed and completely despondent and discouraged with the Coaching Industry that I was in. However, as the Universe tends to work, it was this dark night of the soul that led me to understand that I am a highly sensitive person and inspired me to create a path for myself and others like me who are now what I call, Highly Sensitive Entrepreneurs.
What are you most passionate about?
Living my life from a deeply genuine place with a commitment to my own growth and evolution while inspiring others to do the same.
How do you nourish yourself?
Walking. I live in Manhattan, NYC and value so much my ability to walk to just about anywhere I desire to go. I think I would die a short death if I had to drive everywhere.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
See above, plus I also do private Gyrotonic sessions 1-3 Xs per week, a private dance lesson 1X per week (right now I am mastering the rumba, cha-cha, and hustle) and I start every day with yoga.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
I am a big fan of baths (almost nightly) and reading for pleasure.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
Setting boundaries and asking for what I need. This is a big one for highly sensitives in general and it is taken to a whole other level working at the level I do where I must manage a lot of people and their energy from a team, to my Community Members, to private mentor clients etc.
What is your definition of happiness?
Being at peace with oneself.
