Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
Type A Alpha Females often come across as strong willed and selfish. When we stay true to our authentic selves and stay true to our mission we shine. A true Alpha Female puts the needs of herself first without sacrificing her principles or dignity. She fills up her cup or gas tank first so that she has enough energy for her friends, family, and coworkers. A true Alpha Female strives for synergy with the world around her. She wants a perfect work/life balance but knows that it requires being true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with the people in her life.

How are you an Alpha Female?
I am an Alpha Female, because I live intentionally. I value my voice, because my voice has value. I let love lead. I believe in the power of my dreams and I encourage others to do the same. When I am faced with challenges I use them as opportunities for spiritual and personal growth. I do everything whole heartedly.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
I strive for flow and I am still in the process of finding my flow. I am a new mother to Gemma-Love, so as you can imagine a major shift happened. She sparked a whole new level of vibration and inspiration in my soul. One thing that is contributing to my flow/ harmony is saying NO and understanding you can say it from a place of love. This allowed me to accomplish so much in the past year, becoming a mother allowed me to slow down and really listen to the passions that reside in my heart and she inspired me to take action and live in my truth. She has also taught me the true meaning of “Be here now”
What are you most passionate about?
Life. My family. God. Learning. Empowering all beings to live life from a place of love, compassion, kindness and gratitude. The power of positive thinking. I designed the cover of my book to look like a gas station, because just like we need to fill our gas tanks, we need to fill up our body, mind and spirit with as many kind, loving, positive thoughts that we can. There is a quote by Dr. Wayne Dyer that says “You can not always control what goes on outside, but you can control what goes on inside” I believe by having a daily practice of positive affirmations we can learn to control how we feel on the inside. This does not mean we will be bursting at the seems with joy all the time. But when challenges or negative thoughts arise, we can acknowledge them, honor them and then release them, as they do not serve our highest good. The two words “ I AM“ are very powerful and we need to be aware of how we are using them.
What are you daily health habits that keep your immune system boosted?
My answer before I became a mother would have been 8-10 hours of sleep. I maybe get half of that now, and Gemma-Love is still nursing through the night, but I do have a morning ritual aside from lots of vitamin C, D, 3:6:9 oils and trying my best to fuel myself with whole foods. I wake up slow, I do not jump out of bed. When the gift of another day start’s, I usually walk over to a window or my French doors in the kitchen, I look up and I say THANK YOU. Then I put an album on called Divine Mantra’s for Grace. Which essentially is like a meditation for me. I choose an uplifting oil to diffuse, drink a warm lemon water, prepare stuff for Gemma-Love and then I go about the day. Taking care of our spirit is a huge part of our immune system.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
I do not have a specific routine at the moment. I truly am in a place of just learning to listen to my body and what it needs, So weather I am going on a walk, a hike, just stretching or having a random dance party in the kitchen, I just make sure I am moving. I am following a busy babe around so I also take the opportunity to do some squats or push-ups whenever I can. I am focusing more on mobility and flexibility right now and trying to gain strength back since my C-section. Really just honoring my body, because it is the home to my soul. I love a long peaceful walk while listening to a good podcast and infusing my soul with some goodness.
How do you challenge yourself fitness wise?
Right now everything is a challenge. Recovery from a complicated C-section is taking longer than I ever could of imagined. I am dealing with issues in relation to the surgery. I am listening to my body and taking it day by day. Doing what feels right for me in the moment.
What are you daily/weekly nutrition habits that keep you well nourished?
I try to just eat intuitively. I do not count calories or macros. Eating real whole foods is what I strive for. I do my best to keep it organic. I believe it is important to have fresh healthy foods prepared. So that when life gets busy you have healthy options readily available for you or your family.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
Creating a relaxing and stress free atmosphere is very important to me. I start by giving Gemma-Love a nice relaxing warm bath. Followed by a coconut oil massage, then a bedtime story. I nurse her and sing her to sleep. This routine I use to wind her down, winds me down too. Then it is time to connect with my husband. I enjoy drinking calm magnesium, catching up on some reading while diffusing some lavender. It is a time for relaxation and reflection.
What is your definition of happiness?
Happiness is my day-to-day life being with my family, being a mother, watching my daughter experience all of her “firsts” brings me so much joy. I believe happiness is a choice we make daily, moment-to-moment. It is a mindset, not a destination. Happiness is living your truth, learning, growing, connecting, laughing, loving, and serving. It is found in the most simple and beautiful everyday moments.
