Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.

Definition of an Alpha Female

An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.

She is the brightest star in her constellation.  When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine.  An Alpha Female puts herself first so that she can fill up her cup and then have more energy for her friends, family, and coworkers. She strives for synergy with the world around her. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

Meet Kaylie Klitzing

Kaylie Klitzing is a 24 year old fitness trainer, an IFBB figure professional and powerlifter. Her why is to help people love themselves and their lives. She wants to show others that fitness can be a blessing towards a healthy life and isn’t torture. After rebounding after earning her pro card she’s worked hard to learn self-compassion and enjoy fitness and nutrition again. She wants to share her experience to shed a light on the subject for others.

How are you an Alpha Female?
When I first came across your podcast, I was drawn to it because I loved your definition of an Alpha Female. I wanted to be one! Now after listening to all of the amazing interviews that you do, I know that there are all kinds of Alpha Females. I believe that my passion and drive is what makes me an Alpha Female. I tend to put my whole heart into the people or things that are around me. And I will continue to drive to be a better me each day.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
Work/Life harmony, in my opinion, looks a lot like how my boyfriend runs his business. I would love to be able to have a successful online training and nutrition business; where I can help people all over the world, while I am traveling the world.
What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about health and fitness. Taking care of my body, inside and out, has changed my life in an amazing way. That is why I do what I do; I want to show the world how to live a happy and healthy life. I want to help others love themselves and the life that they live.
What are you daily health habits that keep your immune system boosted?
The first one is making sure that I fuel myself properly. I take the vitamins that I need. I eat the right foods, and portions that I need. I also workout every day. Oh, and I do my best to make sure I get a good about of sleep.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
I am a figure competitor, as well as a powerlifter; so my weekly fitness routine is pretty regimented. I weight train five days a week. At the moment I am transitioning into a powerlifting focused training cycle. I do still keep a lot of accessory work at the end of my workouts to maintain my shape for figure. I also do fasted cardio 3-4 days a week. And I do HIIT cardio 4-5 days after my workouts.
How do you challenge yourself fitness wise?
Powerlifting is a new challenge for me. I just started doing it in January. I also try cross fit style workouts for cardio sometimes.
What are you daily/weekly nutrition habits that keep you well nourished?
I like to prep all my meals. I utilize macros and nutrient timing. I make sure that I fuel myself with foods that provide nutritional value. I weigh everything out; it just makes me feel better when I know exactly what I am putting into my body.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
I generally start to wind down around 8pm, most nights. This is the time I get to relax with my boyfriend. We like to snuggle up and watch a tv show. We eat our protein pudding, then go to bed. I have learned how to focus on my breathe, and clear my mind. This has allowed me to fall asleep fast. And sleeping in complete darkness has allowed me to get good sleep.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
A pain point for me is being a people pleaser. I try to make everyone happy which can lead to chaos. I also can get a little overwhelmed. I want to do it all… Listen to all the podcasts, watch all the videos, and read all the books. So sometime I have to take a break and just blast some music and dance around the house.
What is your definition of happiness?
I love this question! My definition of happiness is loving myself and loving my life. I want to make a difference in the world. I want to inspire others, and show them that anything is possible. Happiness is doing what you love, and loving what you do. Life is too short to do anything else.
