Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives finding harmony between work and life.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
She is the brightest star in her constellation. When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first so that she can fill up her cup and then have more energy for her friends, family, and coworkers. She strives for synergy with the world around her. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

How are you an Alpha Female?
This question is really interesting to me. To be quite honest, when I first read it, I cringed. The word “alpha” gave me a twinge of anxiety. When I think of the word alpha, I think of the “hustle, hustle, hustle” and the “work, work, work” mentality. And that’s one I have chosen to leave behind because it is one that caused me a lot of pain, suffering, and loneliness. So, first, I chose to change my perspective on the word alpha. And then, I Googled it. And one of the definitions that I found sat really well with me: “the first (typically the brightest) star in a constellation. Ahhh, yep. There we go. That’s it. That’s female. That’s woman. We are the brightest stars in society as far as I’m concerned. The world can’t go ‘round without us. We are the brightest stars – we are alpha – because we are pure creation. We create life. And we keep it going – provided we’re connected to our instinctual natures.
So, while it’s still evolving, that’s what Alpha Female means to me now.
Does work/life balance exist?
The word “balance,” to me, is what is setting us up for failure. I don’t aim for balance. I aim for harmony. And, to me, harmony isn’t about things being perfectly centred and balanced. Harmony is about honouring the ebbs and flows of my life. My work isn’t my life. My work is a very important part of my life. And so is my spiritual practice, my relationships, my creativity, my connection to nature, my incessant hunger to learn, working out, solo dance parties, and self-pleasure. Different things need my attention at different times. So, rather than aim for this idea of balance, I like to tune into what harmony feels like to me on that particular day and do that.
What are you most passionate about?
Devotion. That is my favourite thing on the planet. I love to be around people who are devoted to their self-evolution and their self-initiation. I love devoting myself to whatever is calling to me during that particular season. It fuels me. And right now, I am devoted to supporting women to rise into their role as feminine leaders. I am 100 percent devoted to that. First, through my own practice and my own learning. And second, through supporting and mentoring my community and my doTERRA team.
What are you daily health habits that keep your immune system boosted?
Spiritual practice, essential oils, working out, singing // playing piano, sexual pleasure, and kitty cuddles.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
I am a big fan of Tone It Up workouts. Karena and Katrina have been so supportive of me since I began blogging, and I’m obsessed with their workouts. I love their energy and I love their HIIT workouts. I really resonate with them. I am also a Kundalini yoga and meditation practitioner. I practice daily, and it has proved to be an incredible sort of cross-training for me. I am stronger than ever. I don’t have a specific “schedule.” Depending on the week, I will physically workout anywhere from 3 – 7 days per week.
How do you challenge yourself fitness wise?
If it doesn’t kick my ass, I don’t do it. If I workout, I LOVE to be challenged. I have a TON of Capricorn in my chart, so being challenged is like a non-negotiable. 😉 I love putting a killer playlist in my ear buds (you can check out my latest playlist here) and doing HIIT intervals on the treadmill or doing the stair master and then following it up with an arm routine or some kettle bells. I love sweating and am a total workout nerd. I just love it!
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
I don’t really have a set evening routine, but I love watching House Hunters (I have a secret love for anything home decor and real estate) at night to just shut off my brain. Right before bed, I put on my diffuser, rub some lavender on the bottoms of my feet, and dive into my latest book. Right now, I’m reading I am A Woman: Creative, Sacred, & Invincible by Yogi Bhajan.

What are you daily/weekly nutrition habits that keep you well nourished?
I do a lot of work channeling Spirit and I have definitely noticed that certain foods keep me “in tune” and “connected” while other foods make it harder for me to channel Spirit and hear // sense Spirit clearly. Energy is everything to me – spiritually and physically. That being said, two things are important for me when I’m thinking of my nutrition habits: vitality and pleasure. I spent 8 years restricting myself from foods and being very obsessive and controlling around food, cycling through anorexia nervosa, binge eating, and exercise addiction. So, I’m at the point in my life where I am just not willing to sacrifice pleasure for vitality. I love eating Tone It Up protein pancakes in the morning for breakfast. They’re so easy to make, super delicious, and keep me full throughout the day. Another go-to meal for me is pasta primavera, which I make with this delicious red lentil + quinoa pasta, lots of veggies, lemon, garlic, Himalayan sea salt, and basil. With the colder months approaching, I know I’ll be making that a lot. Staples in my life are: lots of greens, eggs, tahini, hummus, Food for Life gluten-free english muffins, pistachios, honey crisp apples, and hot water with lemon + On Guard + DigestZen essential oils. It’s my favorite evening tea. I try to let my body fast for 12 hours from evening through to the next day too, because I find that I feel most energized when I do.
What are paint points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
Insecurity, self-doubt, lack of self-trust, jealousy, procrastination, depression, and anxiety. Yep – that’s it. Not too much. Ha! 😉 I feel, however, they all boil down to four words: “I don’t deserve this.” When we don’t believe that we deserve something, we self-sabotage through all the above things. I show up as a support system // mentor // vessel for people to heal their emotional and behavior patterns that are holding them back. The women I work with are deeply sensitive and it is my personal belief that, when we don’t have a spiritual practice to anchor into and we don’t know how to own our sensitivity, we will just constantly be dipping back into the pool of self-sabotage and ending back up at square one. Luckily, though, it doesn’t have to be that way. We just need simple tools to anchor us back into who we are. It doesn’t have to hard, it doesn’t have to talk forever. But it does take daily devotion.
My mantra with my boyfriend: Be the soil for me to grow.
What is your definition of happiness?
Saying yes. Ditching dogma. Self-permission. Fierce devotion. Joy.
