Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives finding harmony between work and life.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
Type A Alpha Females often come across as strong willed and selfish. However, when we stay true to our authentic selves and our missions we shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first so that she can fill up her cup or gas tank or put on her airplane mask first so that she has enough energy for her friends, family, and coworkers. She strives for synergy with the world around her. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.
Meet Chady!
Chady has had a love of sports and fitness since she was a child, while battling a Kidney disease from an early age of 4. By the age of 8 she began her training in taekwondo, and at the age of 12 she earned her black belt. Immediately after she transitioned to cheer leading and gymnastics, and was able to find time to model professionally at the age of 16. Modeling and cheering her way through college, staying fit became a passion. After college and a successful modeling career Chady decided to move to California and tune her skills as an actress. By this time being a mother of a 4year old, she put her fitness skills to the ultimate test; having gained 70 pounds during her high risk pregnancy due to her continued battle with her kidney disease she re-sculpted her body into a bikini fitness model. She is currently gracing fitness magazine covers (Fitness RX & Oxygen), various video and print product endorsements, while still competing internationally and is the 2010 Arnold Classic Bikini Champion and the 2010 & 2012 WBFF Pro Bikini World Champion. With a diverse fitness background, incredible beauty, combined with her acting ability and being bilingual creates a vertically and horizontally integrated marketing machine for a wide range of products. She is now the founder of The Fit Girl.com.

How are you an Alpha Female?
Im Latin first of all LOL! I was raised by 2 strong Puerto Rican parents, and have two older girl siblings and a twin brother. Didnt have much of a choice. Although I am the youngest, my mother instilled into all the girls in the house to never be dependent on anyone and to create a life path that we sincerely loved. Whatever we chose to do, to do it with passion. Whether if we wanted to be a garbage picker, to be the best garbage picker ever meaning to do it with pride! It’s a funny analogy my parents used but they have been always really supportive with the choices I’ve made.
When I decided to get into the fitness industry in 2010, my parents kinda looked at me with a bit of hesitation, thinking why get into bodybuilding when they felt I was capable of doing so much more especially since I went to college. But for me I went through a huge transformation not only physically but mentally, training for a show because I felt capable again. I knew from that moment on that I wanted to help other women and moms feel capable and be an alpha female who’s in control of their life.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
Traveling with a laptop ideally because I am a mom and enjoy doing extra circuricular activities with the kids along with supporting my fiancé in all his business endeavors. But in all honesty, harmony is doing work that fulfills my heart and that’s sharing what I feel God has blessed me with. I feel blessed that I have a voice in the fitness community and women are inspired by own journey. I enjoy hosting fitness camps and speaking engagements where I can reach out and meet people who were once in my shoes.
What are you most passionate about?
I resigned working for a supplement company that I was attached to for 5 years to really focus on what my objective being in the fitness industry was other than competing and winning. My passion has always been to share so I created a website called TheFitGirl.com As someone who went through the very same issues we all go through- from self esteem, to post pregnancy weight gain and depression, I understand how difficult it is to reclaim your body and really feel beautiful. I believe the only way you can change your body is to change your thoughts. This is why I sought out to create THE FIT GIRL. For me in the past, my physical health was more important than anything. Physical health is essential to preventing and reducing risk of many diseases. In my personal opinion, if you aren’t physically fit/healthy you can’t survive or live a healthy life. The mind and body are separate but what you do with your body will have a powerful effect on your well-being and vice versa. What’s in the inside, shows on the outside. Without inner peace, authenticity fades. The Fit Girl is a place where all women can share their own healthy versions of Fitspirations, with positive messages to get motivated and inspired to live the life you want to live. The Fit Girl’s aim to bring articles on healthy habits, fitness hacks and motivational stories on how girls like us can look and feel better than ever.
What are you daily health habits that keep your immune system boosted?
Water is life! I try to drink as much as I can daily. Keep the sodium in my foods low and making sure I get enough rest. Those 3 are needed in order for me to function the way I want to. I will admit I have been adding chlorophyll in my water and its changed my energy levels. Cholophyll helps alkalizes the body and raises red blood cell count giving increased levels of oxygen.
What is your weekly fitness routine like?
Get it in when I can! I always opt for doing it in the morning after getting kids to school or after I eat my breakfast but sometimes that never really happens. So I honestly just try to get it in somehow even if it’s incoporating laying down while watching a flick with the kids. As a mom and working woman, I have just recently committed to having a girl workout and lunch once a week that way I hit two birds with one stone. Getting girl time which every woman needs and my workout session.
How do you challenge yourself fitness wise?
Since I know how to work out already it can be difficult to have intense workout meaning to torture myself. That’s why I have been opting for fitness classes in the gym just to get out of the norm and comfort zone. Sometimes trainers need trainers, I don’t always like to torture myself lol. I do want to touch base on how I’ve been giving myself more self-love that just dissecting myself on what I need to improve on in the weight room. I worked out 5-6 days a week, I ate healthy, had my girl brunches, occasional yoga sessions, weekly family gatherings, massages when needed and I slept at least 6 hours a day. I took care of myself…on the outside. On the inside, resilience was my decoy and I convinced myself I was my best but I was far from it. When we take time to reconnect with ourselves by listening to our intuitions, ground ourselves in the present, we can really move forward. You are the only one who can do this. I’m a huge advocate on being your own best cheerleader and not bullying yourself.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
Being in the fitness industry for over 5 years, I have had eyes on me non stop. Expectation to look the part of a fitness model 24-7 became my life. I was my own worst critic. So I started to address an issue that no diet, food program, meal plan or fitness routine ever really does: Self Love- like I mention above. If there’s one thing that I learned is that you can’t move along in your journey when you are the star player constantly critiquing yourself. The simple realization that happiness is an inside job is transformative. It make you think about what’s really important to you and what you want more from your life. You realize it’s not your weight, body fat, or how much money you make. A lot of us wait until we get “there” to start doing what we really want to do but what if we all start doing things because we knew that’s what lights up your soul in the now? I’d bet we all get “there” that much faster. I live my life now in the moment still as an Alpha Female but more out of love. The universe will throw back at us what we give out, so give good!
What is your definition of happiness?
Family!!! I envision us at our home – My Fiancé, My kids, and the puppies outside in our backyard all laughing enjoying each other’s company with food on the grill:-)
