Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives finding harmony between work and life.
Definition of an Alpha Female
An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.
Type A Alpha Females often come across as strong willed and selfish. However, when we stay true to our authentic selves and our missions we shine. An Alpha Female puts herself first so that she can fill up her cup or gas tank or put on her airplane mask first so that she has enough energy for her friends, family, and coworkers. She strives for synergy with the world around her. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

How are you an Alpha Female?
I have a set of values and an intentional set of priorities that I do not bend on for anyone. In doing so I can remain more effective in what I’m supposed to do on this earth while taking care of the most important people in my life, as well as the countless people I wish to serve through my gifts.
What does work/life harmony look like for you?
When I’m in harmony my body is healthy, my heart is full and no matter what is going in my life, I’m existing in a state of gratitude and abundance.
What are you most passionate about?
Helping everyone around me fully understand that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. That they are unique and are on this planet to do things that no one but them can do. I find that most of us do that “thing” through our vocation, so helping people connect the dots in their professional life so they can personify their gifts through service to others is overwhelmingly rewarding.
What are you daily health habits that keep your immune system boosted?
A combination of cardio and weight lifting, yoga, ayurvedic nutrition, homemade bone broth, live cultures from sauerkraut, kimchi or pickles; meditation, supplements and currently
What is your weekly fitness routine like?

Tuesday: Long cardio, yoga later in the day
Wednesday: Chest/Back + short cardio, yoga later in the day
Thursday: Bis/Tris/Limited shoulders + short cardio, yoga later in the day
Friday: Long cardio
Saturday: Yoga, maybe some form of a more intense workout, could be hiking or canoeing or something outdoorsy that we get into that day for fun

How do you challenge yourself fitness wise?
I workout with my girlfriends who push as hard as I do, sometimes harder, depending on the day. Then I mix it up every once in awhile by hiring a trainer to learn new things or get out of a rut. I have limitations with inappropriate sinus tachycardia (a super high heart rate that jumps up with step ups, running, big muscle work) and I have little old lady hips, one side that really needs to be replaced. So if you talk to my doctors, I probably need to challenge myself a little less. Haha! Those are genetic, though, not caused by overtraining.
What are you daily/weekly nutrition habits that keep you well nourished?
Bone broth is my biggest win lately. I have a terrible digestive system and have since I was a small child. Between a severe gluten allergy that has landed me in the hospital multiple times, going back to when I was four-year-old, IBS and other nonsense, by #1 priority with food has to be either constantly nourishing or healing my gut. The end.
What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?
I do this all day. In better weather I float in my pool at least 15 minutes a day, where I meditate. I stop late afternoon for a short meditation break. In the evening I usually drink a hot ginger, peppermint, Turmeric or an Ayurvedic tea made of a blend of seeds. If I don’t manage it all day, I’m WAY too amped at night to even consider sleep.
What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?
When you put a more masculine energy into the world it can intimidate women and it can cause men to push back with a stronger masculine energy, like they would a man they are competing with. I try to balance that with going deep with people and quickly building trust so they know how caring and full of love I am, while also observing how intensely I come at life. As far as how it impacts me, I can’t settle. It pains me to settle for less than what I know it can be, no matter what that thing is. So until I get there it is an internal battle, which can lead to stress, anxiety and other physical manifestations. “Flow” is a word I try to focus on the reg!
What is your definition of happiness?
Happiness to me is like how I feel when I get a new pair of shoes. I prefer to focus on joy, which is a more longstanding feeling that can be realized when I can be grateful for all of the goodness in my life, no matter the season of life that I’m in.
