What I say: I’ve truly enjoyed reading business books this year and learning how to apply bits and pieces into my work world. When I started at Kobo the first day I was at an offsite with many employees. The first thing that we had to do was say our name and what we are currently reading. One employee stated that she was reading Lean In and that she highly recommended it. I was hearing mixed reviews but wanted to judge the book myself. I find it very insightful and helpful to navigate the gender differences that are still unfortunately in the workplace. Still there due to women not always leaning into their careers and asking for change. My favourite chapters are “Sit At The Table” and “Are You My Mentor?”. If you are in a boardroom with me and it’s a large group of people. If I need my opinion heard or need to present you will see me always sit at the table. 🙂
